01 / The Brief & The Problem

The challenge was translating the highly stylized, 2D animated comic book characters (Invincible and Omni-Man) into a terrifyingly realistic, visceral live-action poster format.

"Invincible" relies heavily on the shock value of extreme violence contrasted against bright, traditional superhero colors. Amazon Prime's core product is the animated show, but the overarching franchise identity demands a sense of existential dread. The artwork needed to bridge the gap between comic book aesthetics and hyper-realistic cinematic tension.

02 / Strategic Approach

I tackled this by focusing heavily on the physical toll of their brutal father-son dynamic. I constructed the composition around the iconic blood-splatter imagery that defined the series, with Omni-Man looming as an imposing, unfazed threat behind a battered Mark Grayson.

By muting the bright reds and blues of his suit and applying a harsh, dramatic chiaroscuro lighting setup, I stripped away the cartoonish elements. I focused on microscopic details—fabric textures, skin pores, and the exact viscosity of the blood—to ground the character in brutal reality, signaling to mature audiences that this is a premium, adult-oriented IP.

04 / Authoritative Impact

The true measure of conceptual art is when it forces the official rights-holders to take notice.

Posted on May 2, 2021, the official @primevideouk Instagram account engaged directly with the piece, commenting "Oooof 😎" before utilizing the artwork for their own promotional efforts. It demonstrates the unique ability of "The Algothrim" to take established 2D intellectual property and pitch it conceptually as a massive, live-action premium series event that studios actively want to associate with.
